Fellowship programs can integrate QOPI Participation into fellow activities to facilitate meeting ACGME Common Program Requirements for Practice Based Learning, Quality Assessment, and Performance Improvement activities.
Additionally, while QOPI Certification is not available to fellowship programs, Program Directors at a number of institutions have found engaging fellows in the QOPI Certification process for the institution to be valuable for the fellows.
QOPI Participation can help fulfill ACGME requirements by having fellows:
- Apply quality indicators
- Peer review charts
- Focus on improvement through chart review and improvement projects based on discoveries in QOPI Quality Reports
- Can be used to teach fellows the importance of quality assessment and performance improvement in concert with core curriculum for caring for patients with cancer.
- Can be used to engage fellows from the beginning of their career in quality assessment, quality reporting, and performance improvement activities that will be required throughout their career.
QOPI reports provide fellowship performance on quality metrics along with providing comparative scores of the Fellowship Program Aggregate and QOPI National Aggregate.
Please view the Fellowship Participation Guide to understand how to use QOPI for your fellowship program. If you have additional questions after viewing the presentation, please contact the QOPI Help Desk.
